How would you react to severe vision loss? It often brings isolation, loss of confidence and loss of independence. Now imagine having a companion willing and eager to tackle any task with you – a guardian angel, best buddy and furry icebreaker. As a team you’d be unstoppable. Guide Dogs for the Blind has offered that power of partnership since 1942, always at no charge, thanks to support from contributors like you.
Frank Frand credits Guide Dogs for the Blind, through his guide dog Cardinal, for restoring his independence and confidence in a career as a technical consultant. To show his appreciation, Frank started the Tee Off For Dogs golf tournament in 2004, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit public charitable organization. The seven tournaments to date have grossed over $200,000 to support the Guide Dogs mission. The 2011 tournament proceeds sponsored Jake, a young Southern Californian (and golfer!), graduating with his first guide dog, Quebec. Jake, Quebec, Frank and Cardinal are in the picture.
